In 1978 the Baras Foundation first responded to the needs of children. The Baras Foundation was founded as a public benefit non-profit foundation with Federal 501(c)(3) status. Since then, the foundation has helped lonely, scared and depressed children with the 291-KIDS telephone call-in story line. Receiving as many as 31,000 calls a month, the project needed to expand to meet increasing demand.

In October of 1993, the Foundation opened the first of nine non-profit thrift stores at 1455 University in Hillcrest. For over 35-years we’ve been helping area children to become more self-reliant, happy, confident youngsters. To continue, we need your help. We depend on donation of your clean, useable, working items.

We accept:

Furniture, used clothing, housewares, small appliances, toys, books, jewelry, clothing accessories, computers, electronics, glassware, kitchen ware, collectibles, artwork, linens, games, tools, chairs, tables, bicycles, draperies, rugs, towels, belts, shoes, ties, hats, lamps, etc. All donations are tax-deductible. We even accept cars, motorhomes, trucks, and boats.
